World Library Foundation Newsletter Dept.
2026
The World Library Foundation's newsletter for October 2026 (Volume 10, Issue 8), shared by all of its libraries. The Library Portal at worldlibrary.org has been rebuilt for today's readers: pages that load more quickly, and one responsive design that fits a phone, a tablet or a desktop. Also in this issue: the Executive Director's message, "Thirty Years of Open Doors"; the new STEM Library branch; how fragile pamphlets, rare maps and out-of-print books travel from archive vaults to the reading room; open research and open textbooks for every reader and classroom; why public domain literature has no waitlists and no expirations; and open data and the future of ethical AI.
Read this work at the World Public Library (library card needed).
