Adventure (124 Books)

In fiction, the adventurer figure or Picaro may be regarded as a descendant of the knight-errant of Medieval romance. Like the knight, the adventurer roams through episodic encounters, usually involving wealth, romance, or fighting. Unlike the knight, the adventurer was a realistic figure, often lower class or otherwise impoverished, who is forced to make his way to fortune, often by deceit. Also, an adventurer is a roguish hero of low social class who lives by his or her wits in a corrupt society.

1848, Kamehameha III granted fee-simple interest of Kalialinui to a chiefly steward, Kamaikaaloa (Kamaikaaloa), who held the land through the remainder of his lifetime, and subsequently conveyed it to his heirs. Kalalawalu—daughter of Kamaikaaloa and Kealohaaukai—and her husband, Douglas Panee, sold the land of Kalialinui to Haleakala Ranch in 1888. Most of Kalialinui, including the land that became the Waikamoi Preserve, has been held by Haleakala Ranch since that t...

How to Kill God

By: Raven Kreetion; Siris Kane

Religion has misinterpreted God for its own financial gain. Willfully manipulating and detaching mankind from creation and nature for the sole purpose of keeping it under control. My book exposes that.

Aaricia and the Noland Army

By: Richard Shekari

An epic tale of adventure that features Aaricia; a young woman having being betrayed by a loved one, lost her family and her home, must find a way to raise an elite army to help reclaim all she’s lost. Bestowed with a remarkable gift to communicate with a rare kind of beast, and armed with a handful of mercenaries, she must rise to face the most revered ruler in all the lands; the evil Queen, and swayer of the great kingdom of Azzodonia.

"You? A woman?!" Dirty Simo laughed. "You want to fight the great Azzodonian army?" He mocked the lady standing in front of him, who was dressed in a long, hooded cape. His belly, grotesquely obese, pushed forward as he almost choked on laughter before asking the next question. "Are you mad?" A teardrop formed in the corner of his eye, and saliva dribbled down his chin as he spoke. Dirty Simo's attire consisted of an old, torn doublet that was indicative of his lowly sta...

First Footnote : Thermonuclear Radiation Decoded, Volume 4

By: Ms. Rochelle A Laura; Tim Fleming, Illustrator

This is the story of a most remarkable entity: thermonuclear radiation. The process is the mass of the atom’s nucleus turned into radiative energy. Oddly, atom’s mysterious properties are alluded to in scripture; and for its powers primeval beings via for the prize while exploiting its work. Its' genesis is fundamental as it presently overshadows our existence for good...or evil! Antiquity reveals it is germane to life; also is instrumental in its' formation as...

CREATOR made thermonuclear light; without Himself and this light, was not any thing made that was made. This light or radiation is what the stars are formed by. In Genesis this process is mysteriously encrypted thru the term ‘star’ and ‘light.’ Creator then made a beautiful angel to take care of this powerful force; Genesis was to introduce the force and the troubled angel (and Savior from this dilemma) that is referred to in several other books of the Bible as well.

Do Not Be Afraid, I Am Always With You

By: Rev. James G. Davis

I wrote this little book for a very special girl I know who is sometimes afraid. I’m not going to mention her by name, but she knows who she is. I know she doesn’t like to be afraid, but sometimes all of us are afraid, even though none of us want to be afraid. Things happen in our lives and before we know it we’re afraid. It doesn’t feel good to be afraid. None of us like feeling afraid. This little book is for her to use with her mom and dad. I hope there are some t...

When I’m afraid, it helps me to take a few deep breathes and to remember Jesus is always with me – in my mind and in my heart – blessing me with whatever I need to get through the scary times in my life. Doing this almost always helps me calm down, do what I need to do, and be at peace even though I might still be afraid.

The Price of Being With Sunita

By: Michael Graeme

paranormal, adventure, speculative, fantasy, romance, mystery, literary

If you can read the mind and sense the feelings of anyone near, it might come in handy, I suppose, but at what cost? What if someone you love is smiling at you, but thinking something else, so you know the smile is false? Would you really want to know the truth, or would you rather be oblivious? Would you not rather cover the truth with pretence in order to spare your feelings?

Concepte de securitate

By: Adrian Danut Dobre

Aceste ...
